Ontario’s $4.7 million investment in this project means that patients in Espanola and the surrounding community will benefit from:
- An expanded and redesigned emergency department with nearly double the patient capacity, including 11 treatment rooms compared to the previous six
- A new medication room in the emergency department area
- Additional support space in the emergency department including patient waiting areas, a patient registration area and a conference room
- A new ambulance bay with direct access into the emergency department
- Improved infection control and patient privacy
- Improved safety, efficiency and movement of patients and staff throughout the facility.
