“Simulation Modelling for Health System
Resource Planning and Optimization”

Ali Vahit Esensoy, Group Manager,
Strategic Analytics, Cancer Care Ontario

All students and faculty welcome.

Abstract

In Ontario access and capacity challenges in healthcare management are increasingly addressed at a whole-system level, where provincial programs and agencies seek to allocate investments across providers and care sectors. Such decisions led by CCO are frequently addressed through scenario analyses that are supported through simulation and optimization approaches. In this talk we will review how CCO leveraged these techniques in analytics products to support planning decisions on stem cell treatment capacity, MRI funding and launching new services to care for dementia in the community.
