As part of this announcement, the following research hospitals in Toronto will be receiving funding:
- Close to $4.49 million for nine projects at the Hospital for Sick Children, including research on improving early diagnosis of rare diseases and pediatric cancers;
- Close to $1.36 million for six projects at the University Health Network, including research on cancer, arthritis, preventing falls and improving the patient experience;
- More than $720,000 for two projects at Sinai Health System, including infrastructure to study DNA for drug development and tools to study proteins and small molecules; and
- $280,000 for two projects at St. Michael’s Hospital, including research on personalized treatment for spine disorders and alternatives to leg amputation.
