Event – 2021 Canadian Operational Research Society Annual Conference (June 7-10)

Every year, the CORS annual conference brings together Operations Research and Management Science academics and practitioners from Canada and abroad. It features plenaries, tutorials, hundreds of presentations, and several competitions.

This year:

  • Conference Chair: Fatma Gzara (University of Waterloo); Program Chair: Timothy Chan (University of Toronto; CHE Director)
  • Harold Larnder Memorial Lecture ⏤ “Novel Supply Chain Network Models Inspired by the COVID-19 Pandemic – From Optimization to Game Theory”, Anna Nagurney (University of Massachusetts Amherst)
  • Plenary ⏤ “A taste of the role of analytics in the fight of the COVID-19 pandemic”, Georgia Perakis (MIT)
  • 4th annual Canadian Healthcare Optimization Workshop ⏤ full-day workshop consisting of three sessions, each with a distinguished speaker and a technical presentation
  • 24 sessions in the Healthcare Cluster co-chaired by CHE Associate Director, Vahid Sarhangian, including:
    • two session on managing healthcare operations during the COVID-19 pandemic
    • one session for HCOR SIG student presentation competition
