News Item – Why Ontario’s expanded COVID-19 testing will make it harder to assess the economy’s reopening

Dionne Aleman is a professor of industrial engineering and CHE affiliate at the University of Toronto. Her research involves developing pandemic models to simulate infectious disease outbreaks in urban environments, first during the H1N1 epidemic, and now with COVID.

She said success or failure in the first stage of the province’s reopening will largely be determined by people’s behaviour.
